41. Fugazi - Repeater (1990)

Formed from the ashes of one of the greatest hardcore bands of all-time (Minor Threat), one of the first emo bands (Rites of Spring), and various other D.C. area groups, Fugazi took everything from the hardcore/punk scene and fused it into a cohesive whole that made 15 years worth of amazing music. Incorporating elements of punk, classic rock, dub/reggae and whatever else into the mix, the Ian MacKaye fronted band never seemed to make a misstep. This song, off of their debut album Repeater is like the band's entire sound condensed into 3 minutes of greatness. Check out the chiming guitars in the chorus....they're something you wouldn't expect in a song this heavy.
